America's Best BBQ By Chef Paul Kirk & Ardie A Davis

America's Best BBQ is the latest book by Chef Paul Kirk and Ardie A. Davis and it's certainly a barbecue cook book with a difference.

Many of you BBQ aficionados out there will be fully conversant with Paul Kirk's credentials as a barbecue chef, in fact Paul is a championship pitmaster and certified working chef. His companion on this journey is Ardie, a barbecue historian, doctor of barbecue philosophy and founder of the American Royal International BBQ Sauce, Rub and Baste Contest...........You can't get better credentials that that!

What Makes America's Best BBQ Such A Special Book?

Put simply it's 100 great BBQ recipes that you won't find anywhere else. These recipes come from the barbecue grills that Paul and Ardie have visited over the last two years of travelling. Because Paul and Ardie carry “BBQ respect” by the bucket load , they've managed to tease out these top secret Q recipes from the best professional pitmasters around.

Think about it, if you went into a BBQ grill and asked the pitmaster for his competition winning secrets what do you think the response would have been?

What Style Of Recipes Will You Find?

Traditional BBQ belt ranges from North Carolina to Texas and most of the recipes have this influence. To qualify for a rating you also need to satisfy Paul and Ardie on the following points:-

  • The restaurant must specialize in BBQ and not just have a few items on a larger menu.
  • The cooking fuel should be wood or charcoal (men after my own heart!)

There's a good combination of starters, mains, sides and desserts and it's all served up with great photos, stories about the restaurant owners and barbecue trivia.

Why Buy It?

Not only do you get great recipes and wonderful stories, Paul and Ardie serve it up in a creative fashion so that you can make the complete outdoor feast. There's even some great barbecue tips about setting yourself up as a BBQ caterer and I guess with these recipes now in the public domain, what's stopping you being a champion pitmaster yourself?
