More Barbecue Pork Slow Cooker Recipes
I’ve done quite a few barbecue pork slow cooker recipes so click here to view all my
crock pot barbecue recipes.
What's great about the slow cooker is that it perfectly mimics the cooking temperature of the smoker in that it operates at the boiling point of water. This means that the low and slow process that delivers tender fall off the bone textures is alive and well in the comfort of your own home in the deepest darkest depths of winter.
This pulled pork recipe is a fairly lengthy process even for the slow cooker so if you prefer similar but quicker then try my other easier
pulled pork recipe.
Having said that, this recipe is delicious and well worth the wait, pork shoulder packed with flavour and the barbecue sauce of your choice. What could be better? Get the recipe underway and there’s plenty of time to nip out and buy the buns.
Even if you're short on time you don't need to buy coleslaw, just check out my healthy
quick and easy coleslaw recipe
Place the pork, the sliced onion, and the water in the slow cooker and lightly season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or 4 to 5 hours on HIGH heat setting. Remove the meat and pour off the liquid. Replace the pork in the crock pot and add the remaining ingredients and cook on low for a further 6 hours.
Allow to cool a little then gently shred the meat with a set of bear paws and serve in a bun generously covered in the
homemade barbecue sauce
and coleslaw side.
