Barbecue Smoker Umbrella
Offset Cantilever Umbrella
Is there such a thing as an umbrella to attach to a Weber smoker, to keep the rain off the smoker?
Because the smoking process is a very long one (8-10 hours), the weather can easily change during the process! During the spring and fall months, especially, it can be rainy-----my husband says he's seen some kind of an umbrella that hooks onto his smoker to keep the rain off of it. He has a birthday coming up, and I'd love to find one of these illusive umbrellas . . . any suggestions?
If you aren't lucky enough to have a shelter with sufficient air circulation (to blow away smoke) then an umbrella is a great idea.
Not only will the umbrella protect your smoker from the rain (big cause of rust) it will also prevent water droplets dripping down the chimney and carrying tar deposits onto your food.
The umbrella that clips onto the side of a BBQ Smoker is right here
. If you look carefully at the picture you can see that they've even attached to a Weber barbecue just for you!
Essentially it is a clip that fits to the side of your barbecue and the stem of the unbrella is then double kinked to ensure that it is correctly positioned directly over your equipment.
A more flexible (and more expensive option) is to consider an offset or cantilever umbrella (picture at the top of this page). They are definitely more expensive but then again more robust and you can click here to get upto 30% off at PatioUmbrellas.com
In addition, as a little birthday bonus you can also get him a 17 by 17-Inch Food Umbrella
perfect for keeping either your raw ingredients or cooked food protected.
Now your husband can BBQ from Easter to Thanksgiving and beyond!

Whatever type of umbrella you go for please remember:-
- Smoke will discolor the underside of the unbrella over time
- Ensure that the umbrella is positioned sufficiently high to allow fesh air to circulate above your smoker. This is necessary for your own health and also to ensure a continuous flow of fresh smoke through your smoker.
