Boil An Egg Tip

by Terry Richardson
(Waterloo, In)

Properly "Boil an Egg"

You don't boil eggs. To make the perfect hard cooked egg with out cracking: Put eggs in a saucepan. Add cold water to 1 inch above eggs. Turn heat on high until water starts to boil. Turn off, cover and let stand for 12 minutes. When time is up, drain, put into cold water to cool if desired. No cracked eggs.

Comment from Paul:-

Terry, thanks for this great "boil an egg tip" (or should I say "not boil an egg tip"?). Next Easter when the kids want to paint eggs I know exactly whose recipe I'll be using!
