Vertical Brinkmann Smokers Review

This page is dediacted to the vertical Brinkmann smokers designed to make smoking easy and controllable.

The point about ease is in the shape and structure of the unit, everything is upright (hence the name “Vertical”) and front door access to the food chamber makes laoding and unloading food extremely convenient.

Controllable....it's powered by electricity and this means that you can set the temperature and walk away.

It is constructed of heavy-duty steel with durable textured paint and has a locking front door complete with temperature gauge.

The cooking grates and the water and charcoal pans are all porcelain coated for ease of cleaning and the official capacity is up to 50 lbs. of food

One complaint is that the water bath is too small so if you're smoking for a long time then you have to keep your eye on it and refill if necessary.

In addition I have heard some reports about this smoker being "cheap" in build quality but its "horses for courses". If you want something more robust then go for the Bradley electric smokers or Cookshack smoker range but just be aware, you're going to pay an awful lot more for the product.

Smoke King

The Brinkmann Smoke King looks similar to the Vertical other than it has a separate fire box that also doubles and a barbecue grill and a small smoke stack with a damper for additional heat and smoke regulation.

The unit is of similar construction and the main additional features over what I’ve already described are down to the accessories and versatility. The smoker box has 12 levels giving greater flexibility and the unit comes complete with 6 heavy duty skewers, 4 hanging rods with 24 hooks and a large removable rib rack.

For convenience there’s also a bottom storage tray for cooking tools and locking wheels for ease of movement and stability once in position.

Purchasing Brinkmann smokers like this one over the internet at the time of writing (February 2012) is proving really difficult because no one is stocking them. We review these pages at regular intervals and shoud the situation change we'll get a buy now button up there.
