Does A Propane Smoker Work As Good As A Regular Smoker?
Does a propane smoker work as good as a regular smoker?
I have been bbqing a long time and a pretty good cook also. I had a smoker with a pit on the right side of it.
I'm not sure if I even used it properly. I cooked a brisket once and it still was tough. I don’t have that one anymore. Lost it in the divorce. So what type is the best and maybe the easiest to use.
I bought the last one at home depot. Where else can you buy them? I’m in Las Vegas NV

To get the best prices, shop on the internet. Check out the following stores and you’ll see what I mean.

Flavor wise, a propane smoker will work just as well as a regular charcoal smoker albeit (in my humble opinion) it’s not as much fun. Gas is a lot more controllable than a fire and also almost instant in terms of preparation.
The flavour comes from the smoke which comes in turn from the smouldering of wood chips. Technically, it doesn’t matter what the source of the flame is to your average recreational smoker but purists I’m sure, would disagree.
Having said all of the above, why gas?
If you want traditional then go charcoal.
If you want control & convenience go electric.
Either of the options above will present you with a larger range to choose from, for example use this link to see the range of electric smokers available and try this link to view the range of charcoal smokers.
