Traeger Electric Barbecue Grills Review

Traeger electric barbecue grills are pretty unique in that they act as both BBQ smoker as well the grill and they look the part too. Powered by electricity, a microprocessor control board regulates the burn time of the wood pellets so determining whether it’s a smoker or a grill. There’s three settings, high, medium and smoke.

It all works off 110 volt electricity that powers the feed of the wood pellets, the fire pot that generates the heat or smoke and a fan that distributes the heat / smoke mix around the food.

The electric fan ensures that the grill tray is surrounded by heat and therefore Traeger claim that this eliminates the need for turning the food even to the extent that you can do a pizza in it!

For the fun element, in addition to the the traditional range there’s also Lil Pig and Longhorn grills to choose from and they are exactly what they say – a pink pig and an orange longhorn steer! Well, if you really must……………

For the wood pellets Traeger offer a variety all packed in 20 pound bags. The pellet is manufactured from sawdust and after a heat and pressure treatment forms a nice clean easy to use fuel. Wood pellets are available in Alder, Apple, Cherry, Garlic, Hickory, Maple, Mesquite, Oak, Onion and Pecan.
