For how long should I cook a whole piece of beef?

by Raema Prandl

Beef Sirloin

Beef Sirloin

I have lost the little book that came with my webber and I can't remember for how long should I cook a whole piece of beef.

Answer:-

It depends how you are going to cook it and also how you like to eat beef – rare, medium or well done.

If you are grilling then my favourite recipe is this one for grilled beef sirloin (this one was cooked on an Outback BBQ grill). Once seared on the outside, it’s then up to you how long you want to cook it for, read the recipe and all will be explained.

If you’re smoking, then you don’t need to spend on sirloin. The classic for smoked beef is brisket and I’ve got a great beef brisket recipe for you with a really tasty rub.

Likewise you can also use the chuck roast when smoking and for this cut I always recommend a marinade to tenderize it first.
