Indian Cooking

Indian Cooking is one of the favourites of the Barbecue Smoker Recipe Man. I spent my student days in Manchester, England and my hall of residence was smack bang in the centre of Rusholme - the famous "Curry Mile".

Ever since then I've been a curry aficionado and I do like a Lamb Rogan Josh or a Chicken Jalfrezi with fresh Naan - fantastic! Trying to do Indian food on the barbecue grill isn't easy because the traditional method of cooking is on the tandoor - a clay oven that gets up to really hot temperatures.

Through my research I've found that the best mimic in terms of temperature is the ceramic kamado style barbecue and I was particularly pleased to note that the promotional bumpf that comes from the manufacturers of the Big Green Egg actually shows a demonstration of how to cook fresh naan bread.

So in addition to the Indian BBQ recipes you'll find dotted around my site, I've included links on this page to what I think are the best information sites for easy recipes and to further my knowledge.

So if you're up for a "Ruby Murray" tonight then your search starts here.

Best Indian Cooking Chicken and Fish Dishes for the curry aficionado.

Best Indian Cuisines Chicken Vegetable and Rice Dishes.

Natco - Online spices and cooking ingredients

Indian Vegetarian Cooking - Ritu's Asian Indian vegetarian cooking. Easy to make Indian recipes and Cooking.

Under the related pages below I've included some of my basic Indian barbecue recipes which are really easy to follow. Just remember that a lot of Indian food involves a marinade (to get the meat tender) and that may mean starting the preparations a day earlier so if you've not got the time, chill out, I guess it'll just have to be next time.
