Low Fat Lamb Stew

by Ryan
(Lancs)

I heard this great tip for low fat lamb stew on the Chris Evans breakfast show this morning that he in turn had got from watching re runs of the cult cooking show "Come Dine With Me". I thought you might like it.

Lamb is a fatty meat and the fat is necessary for flavour but when you make a stew it can look pretty awful if its got a layer of fat swimming on the top.

If you have time, you can cool it down, let the fat solidify and then scrape it off but what if you don't have the time and need to serve it immediately?

Add some ice cubes and the fat will solidify and collect on the cubes!

I haven't tried this technique yet but it sounds like a really quick way to lower the fat content of any stew, not just lamb.
