I'm happy to see your web site, and also thankful to you because of your guidance to bbq.
I'm a new comer for bbq. But I have lot of experiences to Chinese & SriLankan cooking (small about Italian food). I live in SriLanka, city of Kandy. Hope to start a hotel, mainly with BBQ food.
We expect to serve breakfast, lunch & dinner for the customers. Normally SriLankan main food is rice & curry.
For breakfast they eating buns, bread & other Sri Lankan foods.
Dinner they eating noodles, fried rice & kottu (it's a SriLankan food, like pasta with small meat slices mixed).
Lunch they eating rice & curry, fried rice. My question is this Paul, normal hotels and other outlets they doing above thing! I need to change it with mix them with bbq menu. Because SriLankans don't have common place to eat bbq foods.
In this region chicken & beef are common. I have a bbq machine in my home (it's a charcoal machine). So, please give me some ideas to mix bbq with SriLankan breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Answer:-
Kushan, it's great to hear from you and know that my writing is being read all over the globe.
Can I suggest that the best place for you to start is in my appetizers section where there's some great stuff with Asian influences. You can then adapt them to the ingredients that you have available.
How about starting with simple grilling where you've used a flavorful marinade. Try Barbecue Beef Satay or you could use a spicy rub, grill your kebab and then use this meat to make your curry.
I hope that these ideas will stimulate your thought process and your taste buds!
