Organic Food And Local Produce

For me, organic is definitely the way but with two caveats:-

1. There are too many different organic farming standards that mean what's organic to you and me may not be the same for a banana plantation in another part of the world.
2. We must still act to preserve the environment. Yes it may be organic but if it's been flown 1000 miles to hit the supermarket shelf, have we got our priorities right?

It's important to me also to support my local farming community through farmers markets and these have to be without doubt the best places to find both local and organic under the same roof.
