Plank cooked trout can be done on the barbecue or oven in about 20 minutes so really fast and really healthy. Get your cooking planks out and let’s get cracking!
This is such a simple recipe, if you’re into trout it really is a must.
Ingredients:-
A good sized trout, gutted or filets.
1 small onion finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 or 3 sprigs of flat leafed parsley
A teaspoon tip of Wasabi powdered horseradish
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method:-
Wash out the belly cavity of the trout. Mix up all the other ingredients in a bowl and stuff the belly cavity of the trout. If using filets, just lay the other ingredients across the filet.
Slap the trout on a pre heated plank, pop it in the low oven or barbecue at 110°C or 230°F and in 25 – 30 minutes you’re ready to serve.
What could be simpler? Serve with a green salad and it's a healthy option too.
