Vinegar Barbeque Sauce Recipe
I’ve chosen to make an oriental style to this vinegar barbeque sauce recipe but it really is up to you how you want to make the final flavorings work.
The basics to any sauce like this are vinegar and sugar to get that sweet and sour flavor but then I’ve added soy sauce and chili flakes. The soy sauce adds a beautiful rich color and is a great natural way to add salt to a sauce. The chili flakes are really up to you, many oriental sauces have that piquant flavor so add as much as you want (within reason of course!)
The picture above shows the sauce before the addition of the chili flakes, see what I mean about the rich color? This sauce is absolutely ideal for pork. It's so quick to make so I used it with some strips of grilled belly pork which are so quick and easy to grill. A perfect combination and all knocked up in a matter of minutes.
Just before we go to the ingredients, if soy and chili is not your thing, a more traditional sauce would add Worcestershire and Tabasco - check out my “Southern” style

recipe here.
Throw all the ingredients into a saucepan, warm over a gentle heat and stir until all the sugar has melted. Note how sweet this one is but if you’ve put plenty of chili flakes in the use it sparingly!
