Vinegar Barbeque Sauce Recipe

I’ve chosen to make an oriental style to this vinegar barbeque sauce recipe but it really is up to you how you want to make the final flavourings work.

Of course it’s vinegar based but then I’ve added soy sauce and chilli flakes. The soy sauce adds a beautiful rich colour and is a great natural way to add salt to a sauce. The chilli flakes are really up to you, many oriental sauces have that piquant flavour so add as much as you want (within reason of course!)

Vinegar Barbeque Sauce

If you’re looking for a more traditional “Southern” style then check out my alternative recipe .

Ingredients:-

  • 1 cup white wine vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
  • ¼ cup of water
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried chilli flakes

Method:-

Throw all the ingredients into a saucepan, warm over a gentle heat and stir until all the sugar has melted. Note how sweet this one is but if you’ve put plenty of chilli flakes in the use it sparingly!
