Who can bottle our bbq sauce?

We are starting a company to sell bbq sauce for retail and wholesale and need help to find a company who can bottle our bbq sauce.

Please can you help?

Bottling your own sauce and finding a route to market is extremely hard work because there's so much to think about over and above the ingredients and manufacture of the sauce.

How much are you going to make?
What design of label?
How will it be packaged?

In addition to all these points, the big question will be how much are you wanting to make? Answering this question will completely drive the economies of scale and help you understand the business side to producing your own barbecue sauce.

The Private Label Manufacturers Association in New York 212-972-3131, info@plma.com will not only be able to help you find companies that mix and bottle sauces, they will also be able to help you better understand your market and the business that you want to set up.

Another company worth taking a look at is Stage Coach Sauces. These guys are experienced in the contract manufacture of sauces taking it right through from concept to full blown production. They also specialize in supporting new business start ups.

Thinking laterally, you might just want to sell the recipe. If you go this way there's no up front costs. Click here to see an example of how to go about it.

I live in South Africa where we are passionate about bbq which we call braai. We have a sauce which we think is the best and most versatile sauce ''Jimmy`s Steakhouse Sauce''. If you are interested visit www.jimmysauces.co.za

Absolutely the greatest. I have tried various sauces from the US and find them to have a chemical aftertaste and what`s up with this hickory taste. A sauce should enhance not overpower the taste of your meat.
