Barbecue Lamb Recipes

Go on, try one of my barbecue lamb recipes this weekend. Dust off the barbecue grill or meat smoker and live the outdoor cooking life! Take a look at this beautiful barbecue lamb shoulder that I did on a recent camping trip.

Lamb is full of flavour and is simply fantastic on the grill, garlic and rosemary really go well and try putting soaked sprigs of rosemary directly onto the coals for a more subtle flavour.

Butterfly Leg of Lamb

Lamb is similar to beef in that it generally is served pink in the middle and to be clear, provided it's a solid piece of meat, there's nothing unsafe about this. If however it's a burger or a meatball you must make sure that it's cooked through and the secret to safe barbecue cooking is patience, sizzle and above all no flames.

A great way to cook lamb for a group of people is a shoulder or leg that has had the bone removed. Here it is -

After that there's an abundance of options for lamb on the barbecue, check these out:-

Barbecue Lamb Kofte Kebabs

Nichola's Lamb Shoulder

Shish Kebab

Greek Style Kebabs

And one final thought - Ever tried to BBQ Haggis? I was up in Scotland recently during the haggis shooting season and was delighted to discover Haggis slices. Here they are with a few Merquez (spicy sausages from France).
